Position Overview:

Cefaly Technology, a leader in innovative medical devices for migraine and headache treatment, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee all financial and accounting activities for our operations in Belgium. This role will ensure compliance with Belgian regulations, manage all accounting and human resource functions, and act as a key liaison with auditors and tax authorities. The ideal candidate must be proficient in Belgian GAAP and fluent in English.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting and Compliance:

  • Oversee and manage all accounting operations in accordance with Belgian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (BE GAAP) and relevant statutory requirements.
  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Manage tax filings, VAT, payroll accounting, and other financial obligations in compliance with Belgian tax laws.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring proper documentation and bookkeeping practices.
  • Implement internal controls and ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.

Collaboration with Auditors and Tax Authorities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact with auditors, tax authorities, and other external financial bodies.
  • Prepare and provide necessary documentation and financial reports for external reviews and audits.
  • Address any queries or issues raised by auditors and tax authorities to ensure full compliance.

Human Resources Responsibilities:

  • Oversee HR-related tasks for Belgian employees, including payroll processing, employee benefits, and contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and manage employee records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Assist with employee onboarding, performance evaluations, and HR policy implementation.
  • Act as a resource for employees on HR matters, ensuring a positive and compliant work environment.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Assist the CFO in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities to support the company’s growth and strategic objectives.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights to improve efficiency and cost management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably in an international environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Belgian GAAP (BR GAAP) and experience with Belgian tax laws and regulations.
  • Fluency in English; additional proficiency in French or Dutch is a plus.
  • Experience with HR management in Belgium, including payroll, employee benefits, and labor laws.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems; experience with payroll systems is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
